TROUBLED COAST began as five friends in the suburbs of Northern California who shared a love for modern punk rock, indie music, and experimental post-hardcore. The band quickly made waves in the Bay Area hardcore scene by playing countless shows in suport of their debut Creator-Destructor Records release, "100 Miles From Home". In the first two years of the band's career, their sound more closely revealed the influence of 21st century hardcore heavyweights such as Have Heart, Modern Life is War, and the Suicide File. A year and a half after the release of their first record, the band is a back with a more mature and progressed sound.

On their second and newest offering, TROUBLED COAST are seen pushing their style into an entirely new realm. While the same ferocity of the band's debut release is evident in "Letters", the Bay Area five-piece successfully delves into unchartered territory more akin to Thrice, Brand New, and Crime in Stereo. While their musical tendencies have shifted over the last two years, the band manages to achieve a progressed and positively refined sophomore effort. Tracks like "Wolf Republic" and "Love" showcase the bandŐs unfailing agression despite their evolution in sound towards a more melodic and experiemental arena of post-hardcore. In contrast, tracks like "Breathing" and "Me and My Shadow" highight the comfort and ease in which the band has grown both musically and lyrically throughout the past few years.

With a new aesthetic style and darker, more poetic spin on their initial hardcore leanings, TROUBLED COAST have proven that a young band can successfully and seemlessly evolve into a new and previously unexplored sound- a feat that most bands strive for over the course of numerous records. Expect TROUBLED COAST to hit the road in support of "Letters"for the remainder of 2011 and into the next year.
